Not what I expected July 14, 2010 anon e. mus 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was expecting this flashlight to be an infrared flashlight, but it was just a red led light bulb. Nothing special, not really the sellers fault. Perhaps I should have read the description more carefully.
Great night vision light, highly recommended April 14, 2010 Snakeyes (Hagerstown, MD) This night vision light is exactly what I was looking for, for amateur astronomy. The light has a knob on it that allows you to adjust the brightness of the red LED's....this is very useful because you can adjust the red light as your eyes get more adjusted to the darkness. Lightweight and easy to carry around, I recommend this light to anyone that needs a high quality outdoor night vision light for looking at astronomy books or other such items.

I find this flashlight to be the perfect companion to my night sky viewing. The adjustable intensity allows me to decrease the brightness as my eyes adjust to the darkness. I would have liked the ability to switch between white and red LED's, as the white light would have been handy setting things up. I used a (2AA) battery mag-light with a red lens before and found it to be too bright.
Cheaply made and very bulky for what it is February 24, 2009 Brian Thompson (Fort Collins, CO) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I recently purchased this flashlight and have been very disappointed. The light from the unit is strong enough for my needs but I'd prefer the small light on my key chain over this product, although Celestron's unit does have a nice brightness control. Orion's light may be a little better for my needs because it also has a white light for all other non-stargazing applications. For those of us who haul their telescopes across dark fields in the middle of the night this light will not help get us to our stargazing spot, but it will help when we get there.
Telescope Flashlight January 6, 2009 Hal Miller (Las Vegas) This is a very nice red beam flashlight. If I would add anything it should be a little brighter. Well worth the money though.
